You may not realise how the smart technologies have entered into our lives and changed everything over past few years. The change or transition has been very gradual and from simple or no technology today everyone is connected via smart devices. The human social network has directly been impacted with this change when everyone gets busy with their gadgets and feel that they can be more social via gadgets while in reality they are seeing less friends and family. The real social network is shrinking in humans while if you look at the computers and smart devices they seem to be building their own social network where devices are talking to devices and machine to machine has started to take over the monitoring and automation tasks. When you analyse the last half century and look at the change it makes it really scares.
The life flows in a circle or cycle sometimes called lifecycle and a destruction is followed by a construction and back to destruction.
So how will the takeover of smart devices over everyone's social life will change in future?
While things keep changing over time, humans are often resistant for revolutions and will usually not accept or like to make big change unless it gets to extreme and they are forced to change the way they live. It will take some time before people realise that they don't live the social life they used to but will they want to change it? Well if they have seen last few decades and understand both worlds you would wish if you could go back in time but if you don't know the real meaning of personal social life and were born into gadgets you would probably not know it and again be reluctant to change it.
So if majority realises that they want to get the mecha or smarto out of their life will there be a destruction program like you may have experienced in Steven Speilburg's Artificial Intelligence? I don't think it will ever get to that level of imagination that Steven introduced in his movie. But the question is that will it ever change back and if it will how will it happen?
The future is about the smart devices and smart living, once it takes over everyone's life you will not have enough time for your friends and family and it will take it further to the next step. Which is understanding that smart devices do not need everyone's time but in fact need to be used to help your everyday life. The future smart gadgets will focus on speeding up your tasks and helping you in everyday life. So rather than switching phone every 12 months, getting used to new operating system, restoring or recovering your data and settings and tweaking an Android device to do what Apple IOS can do or making iPhone do what Android is capable of doing, everyone will want a new device which doesn't need that level of attention. One way of overcoming this idea will be sticking with one phone, one system and close your eyes and ears to anything but the one you have. But that will not be easy and eventually you will run out of supportability of that device and will have to replace it with a supported model. So where does it leave you? It will boost the smart technologies business again because they are sales oriented and will come up with something that does everything for you. You will have a cloud based service which is log more enhanced than today's cloud, it will know everything about your life and gadgets and devices all around you in your house, car or office will become a family run by the clouded service. They will know where you are, where you need to be, what you need to do and will keep guiding and reminding you to be on time.
Furthermore, you will open new opportunities to set up a social life around the gadgets but will not exactly be getting the gadgets out of your life but in fact simplifying your life and learning how to live with gadgets and yet become social. This may not necessarily bring you closer to friends or family but will create a new circle of friends around the smart life and sometimes in life all you need is some people around you and doesn't matter if they are family or friends or a circle.
Lets see what the future brings for you but this is what I see coming to me in my life.
